Operation Sixth Form Transition
Dear Prospective Sixth Former,
Thank you for choosing to apply to Bordesley Green Girls' School and Sixth Form for September 2021. If you are aware of someone who has not yet applied, they can still apply through our open enrolment process in August; details about this will be provided very soon on the school website.
At this time of year, we would normally be welcoming students to our Sixth Form Taster Session Day and summer school events. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, it has not been possible to run these events. However, you still have an opportunity to familiarise yourself with you chosen subjects/course. Welcome to Operation Sixth Form Transition! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find out about your chosen Sixth Form subjects/course and become fully prepared for your Year 12 learning over the summer holiday.
Clicking on the link below, you can access the Year 12 transition work, which would normally be issued to prospective students on our Sixth Form Taster Session Day. It is important for you to complete the transition work for your chosen subjects/course, because this will not only prepare you for your chosen subjects/course, but it will also give you an insight into the topics you will cover and the type of work you will complete when you arrive at BGGS in the Autumn term. This work will support your wider knowledge and understanding for your subjects/course.
If you are undecided about what subject/course you want to pursue next year, please look through the transition work for the many subjects/courses we offer in the Sixth Form, there is something for everyone! If you have made alternative post-16 choices, it would still be beneficial for you to complete the work for the subjects/course which might be relevant to what you would like to pursue in the future.
If you have any queries, please contact Mrs B Qureshi, Head of Year 12 or myself on firstname.lastname@example.org.
Mr Y Shah
